Project description
Cosmofonie is an immersive space (min 4x4mt, max 12x12mt) where a light labirinth made of special tissue walls 'floating' on air generates multiple surfaces that multiplies and resize the images projected.
This setup can vary in size and shape according to the specific space and has to be specifically built. We can provide all the material and take care of the construction that requires minimum 2 days (4x4mt version).

The unexpected news of Karlheinz Stockhausen's death arrived just when the world of contemporary music was approaching the day of his 80's.
the audiovisual installation "COSMOFONIE / Preview" by Domenico Sciajno doesn't want to be neither a monography or a post-personal exhibition, nor a gift to his memory because so doing the great composer would be set back from the nowdays.
On the contrary COSMOFONIE / Preview wants to demonstrate how much contemporary and lively are his intuitions and inventions. These intuitions and inventions will accompany the future of music forever.
In order to do this Domenico Sciajno has conceived this audiovisual installation as an instrument to multiply sound and visual combinations and impressions starting from Stockhausen's works and documents.
The sound is produced by a generative system programmed by Sciajno that mixes, orchestrates and processes the most famous Stockhausen's electronic compositions.
The composer's voice is added to the sound. It is taken from interviews or lectures that represent the same video sources used to generate and processe images.
So the images are the result of video sequences and pictures processed that testify to some events of Stockhausen's life.
These images are mixed, superimposed processed according to the generated sonic impulses.
SPACE SETUP
The audience can walk trhough the space and those who wants to, can sit at the center of the room in order to listen and to appreciate the combinations of sounds and its spatialization over 4 audio channels.
