Yin - "My Sad No More Addiction (extract)"

Yin - "My Sad No More Addiction (extract)"

The piece, whose internal forms change in a cyclic way and whose appearance is intentionally tautological, has been thought to be heard than to be listened to; it has not been thought to go right through the perceptive, careful, cerebral way, but through the empathic, suggestive, emotional, subliminal one. It has been thought to be a co-protagonist, without filling the emotional vacuum created by the protagonist absence; to be a sad hero, a minor one; to be dreamlike and weak (in the meaning of lacking in energy, exhausted both psychologically and physically).
The piece, to my idea, should last forever; the part showed is only a random and causal extract of one of any moment of its life.
From a technical point of view, the work is based on the research concerning the timbre attribute change caused by digital pitch shifting extreme processing. It has been realized with a DX7 (with a patch programmed in FM by my self) and a laptop with a very advanced pitch shifting plug-in , a reverb and a doppler. The piece has been played "live", improvising.
Work selected for "DVD Live!iXem 2005"
