Live!iXem reached its eighth edition, and thanks to the important synergy between the antithesis and the Superintendence for Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Trapani, will be presented at the former Plant Florio of Favignana tuna and Formica, now museum and research site new languages of contemporary art, on the island of Favignana in Sicily, 8 December 2011 all'9 the workshop section of the Festival Live! iXem 2011, dedicated to experimental electronic music and the arts.
A second section devoted to the performance of the Festival Live! IXem 2011 will be held to follow in Palermo from 10 to 11 December at the Church of St. Eulalia in the heart of Vucciria in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Palermo.
The other important synergy that will characterize the entire event is the one with OpenSound, a platform that brings together seven European partners (APO33, Nantes, France; Granular, Lisbon, Portugal; Audiolab, San Sebastian, Spain; ModusArts, London, England, NK Berlin, Germany, piksel, Bergen, Norway) to give life to a path of cooperation and exchange that sees the sound in the middle of a series of initiatives and artistic outreach program with the support of the initiative for the mobility and the European Partnership in the training, promoted by the European Union through the Agency LLP - Longlife Learning Programme.
More than ten artists from across Europe during the Festival will take turns in live performances, presentations and workshops, creating a vivid and fertile ground for creative encounters and exchanges.
True to his spirit after touring Venice, Florence, Rome, Turin, Milan, Palermo Festival Live! IXem again 8 to 11 December 2011 landed in Sicily.
The Festival begins with sulli'isola of Favignana first two days (8 and 9 December 2011) of workshops, plays, video projections, installations and live performances in the unique location of the former factory Florio Favignana tuna and Formica.
The last two days (10 and 11 December 2011) will be held in Palermo for the section focusing on live performances in the beautiful Church of Santa Eulalia.
In fact, Ex Stabilimento Florio delle Tonnare di Favignana e Formica will reward the best installation projects proposed by those who will participate in the workshops during the festival 2011 (All details about the Call here: or download the PDF).
Another fact to note is the absolutely free of charge access of the fruition of all the Festival events to be held in Favignana and live performances to be held in Palermo, informative, and to amplify the intent to ensure accessibility to users and those younger who want to look out for the first time on a fascinating sound, with its creative potential and its close contact with technology and other arts.
